Microsoft has long been suspected as a free version of Windows 8.1 for OEM manufacturers. The operating system is called Windows 8.1 with Bing. The name suggests the strategy: By pre-installation of Microsoft's Bing search engine will generate more advertising revenue and also convince the user of other software solutions from the house.
So Microsoft is proposing a one way which also went with Google Android. Also Android may be used by manufacturers basically free, but there are a number of conditions that provide for the prominent placement of Google Apps. Microsoft Windows 8.1 with Bing may however be used only on certain devices.
Manufacturers may use the free version of Windows 8.1 will only benefit when it comes to devices that measure their displays either nine inches or less. The users of the devices, however, may elect to use another search engine. Bing is indeed installed, but other search engines apps may not be installed.
